406 Prim EACH Boots!

406-prim-each-boots-cropped.jpg

Ok, I should have done a wrap up of SLCC by now but I haven’t, I’m bad. Lots of things happened there and Tamara and I are busy following up on leads and opportunities, more on that in a later post. There is another reason for this post: BOOTS!

I got new boots, I know no big news there I have an inventory full but these boots I had to wrote about. I got them at Cre@ction. These are the Vampire Boots, thigh high in black. Love them, though they may be causing the lag problems in the southwest corner of Edloe.

SLCC here I come…

daphne-badge.jpg

Or so I hope. Was supposed to be in Chicago by now. Last night I tried to fly out there but the weather wasn’t cooperating and all flights were canceled. Going to try again today. Was hoping to get out there early and meet with Tamara Kirshner. After all these months I was going to meet the woman who I have been podcasting with. Instead I spent 4 hours at the airport changing flights that all got canceled before I could get comfortable in the waiting area. So my cell phone is charged and my patience renewed… let’s hope for better weather.

3:30am Ramblings

OK, I’m going on the theory that most personal blog posts come to the writer when they are stress, bored, irritate or over tired. I’m just over tired I think. Couldn’t sleep and now I’m here rambling incoherently and then ready to press “publish” without a second thought.

Yesterday Tamara and I interviewed with Akela Talamasca of Second Life Insider for their podcast “On the Inside”. Ok, Tam got her “guest on a podcast” skills from her parter Crap Mariner. Trust me, we hijacked that podcast before he knew what was going to happen. Right after we said hello, it was all down hill. But we had fun and I think Akela did too. I just hope their is something left after all the editing, I blame Skype. It’s just easier that way, I might sound like I have no clue what the heck was going on but I did, it’s was the Skype induced lag effect.

This week I have my first of I hope many appearances on the Black Tie Martini Club Oddcast. I think Caleb is trying to put together a stable of other podcasters to play bit parts in his skits. It was fun, I just hope I don’t get typecast as June Cleaver, I can be so much more then a 1950′s mom on valium, really I can.

Later this week this week Tamara and I will be recording Episode 7 with Radar Masukami. The topic: Eastern Asian Design and where to find it in SL. Unless this is actually a ploy to get us back for what we did on his podcast, SL Under the Radar, several times. I am hoping for a show I can just hit record and then do as little editing as possible on, but I wondering if we can stay somewhat on topic enough to do that.

SL Woodstock is coming and you can’t stop it. It started as a Rez Day party for William Pitre, The Traveling Avatar, sponsored by his podcast’s network QDNow. It’s now 2 days, 3 sims and lots of music. Mark your calendars for August 16-17.

Finally, I went to ICANHASCHEEZBURGER before deciding to ramble at my blog and found this LOLCAT. I think Tamara and I have a mascot.

Poor Sad Forgotten Blog…

daphne-01-cropped.jpg

Ok I never claimed I would be prolific but this is pretty sad.  June is a hard month in my real life too many birthdays and family commitments and such.  But now that’s past and I’m just figuring out which way is up again.  Tam and I are recording tonight so that might get our shows back on track.  We finally got some new artwork for the podcast (Thank you Kath Brokken) and eventually I will update the podcast’s website with our new banner.  Hopeing to work on new art for this site, then I need to figure out how to make WordPress all pretty and stuff.

So there is an update, not really an update as much as I’m a sorry excuse for a blogger deal with it.  I will be trying to do better in the near future if not, go listen to Going Broke Episode 5, I think we mentioned some place to buy a whip and IM me to schedule my beatings.

Impatience

waiting.jpg

I lack patience. I freely admit this. If you listen to the new Matthew Ebel live CD, Virtual Hot Wings . During the second part of the concert from Club Egret, Matthew sings his song ‘Impatience’ and at the end he says “That one is for Daphne”. Ok I requested it and I nicely tipped him for playing it, but you get the point. I lack patience.

That said I am sitting here waiting word on Edloe showing up today. I want to get home, I want to finish packing up my castle, I want to put my land up for sale, I want to start creating my new home. I want to be living closer to Tamara and Nowhereville. It seems only appropriate since I spend more time with her than anyone in Second Life and I spend more time at Nowhereville than any place else. Last night I had fun with many of my future neighbors, and I’m sure we will be having fun for many nights in the future.

I checked SLBuzz during writing this post and I see a vigil has been taking place in Nowhereville as people gather and wait. I guess I am not alone in lacking patience.

(Hey Chel Pixie , do I get credit for mentioning the cd????)

Waiting for Moving Day

I waiting for confimation from the powers that be, or in this case a wind-up midget butler named Crap, to tell me I have a new home (http://secondlife.isfullofcrap.com/2007/05/coming_soon.html). Through a series of some very rapid events over this past weekend, I became a partner in a new sim. I am very excited about this, I get my own 1/9 of a sim to play with as I see fit. I have neighbors who I know and I will be across a beach from my podcasting co-host Tamara.

Now does anyone know how to herd the ducks into their crate so I can move them?

If you need me I’ll be packing up my castle, I don’t trust SL Movers, they broke some vases last time and I’m still missing some silver candlesticks…

Interviewing the Traveling Avatar

daphne-crap-and-will.jpg

OK, I was wrong their could be something more out of control than interviewing Crap and Radar: Interviewing Will Pitre. I was told that podcasting is supposed to be fun, well in the past two days I don’t think Tamara and I have laughed more. I know why Will’s podcast is 5 minutes, I don’t think he could stay on topic longer than that. I think having the phone ring (I will not say who’s phone) in the middle of a tangent might have helped get us back on track for about 5 -10 minutes, then somehow the price of sex-gen beds came up and it’s all a blur after that. I hope I will be able to edit this all together into a coherent segment, if not blame William Pitre. Do a search, IM him and tell him it’s all his fault.

Thank you Will for coming on our show, I did enjoy the conversation. It’s a shame some of the best parts were off the record. And for some reason the only picture I could find of you was on SLBuzz of me, Crap and you relaxing at the Speakeasy.

For what it’s worth: If you pay more for your bed than the land it sits on, you may need to evaluate your priorities.

Interviewing Crap and Radar

crap-in-lava.jpg radar-with-waves.jpg

I knew what we were getting ourselves into. I knew the second the idea left my head and Tamara and I talked about it. We knew that herding cats would be easier. We did it anyway.

Last night we interviewed both Crap Mariner and Radar Masukami for our next episode of Going Broke. I say interview for last of a better word. Tamara and I asked an occasional question, Crap and Radar talked about whatever they wanted to. I haven’t listened to the whole interview yet, I know there is a lot of me just laughing. I know that topics got off course. I know there might be parts that should never see the light of day. I know I will be editing and laughing at the same time. This time the editing won’t take forever because of sound problem ( I hope) but because I can’t slice and dice audio tracks and laugh uncontrollably at the same time.

To Crap and To Radar,

Thank you for coming on our show. Thank you for being yourselves. Thank you for your input on the subject at hand. And thank you for being my friends.
